Dutch Classical Talent: Gianmarco Moneti
De Oosterpoort
Trompsingel 27, 9724 DA GroningenIn his recital, Italian pianist Gianmarco Moneti – the fourth Dutch Classical Talent finalist – pays homage to his good friend Clara. In 2022, she was faced with the self-inflicted death of her father. Moneti tells her story with music that interprets three of Clara’s emotions: anger, dissociation and loneliness.
These include the desolate Piano Sonata No. 2 by Grażyna Bacewicz, one of the best but little-heard Polish composers of the last century. From Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco follow Adagio and Allegro Furioso from the Piano Sonata. Solitude can be heard in a selection from Gabriel Fauré’s Préludes and Nocturnes. Music as consolation for Clara and for all other listeners. .
