Raw and exciting feminist costume drama in which Katherine Parr (Alicia Vikander), the sixth wife of the tyrannical King Henry VIII (Jude Law) has to deal with her sick and paranoid husband.

As the sixth wife of the Catholic British monarch Henry VIII (Jude Law), the Protestant Catharine Parr (Alicia Vikander) tries to influence her husband, and with that the rest of the kingdom. When the sick and paranoid Henry returns from the battlefield, he loses his grip on reality and directs his anger at (Protestant) radicals.

When he even has Catharine's childhood friend Anne Askew executed, she fights in fear for her marriage, and at the same time for her own life. Director Karim Aïnouz (The Invisible Life of Euridice Gusmao) brings this oppressive story back to life together with actors Alicia Vikander (The Green Knight, Tomb Raider) and Jude Law (The New Pope, Sherlock Holmes).
