Swim to eliminate cancer

This is the goal of the Groningen Swim Challenge, that will happen on Saturday, August 31st, in the city of Groningen! The challenge of this event is not only physically demanding but also mentally quite tough!

A real challenge

Since 2014, the Groningen Swim Challenge has taken place in Groningen. This sporting event is a real challenge for the participants! Swimming from Zoutkamp to the heart of the city of Groningen. The Municipality of Groningen is already busy with a major cleanup of the Diepenring to ensure the event runs smoothly.

Raised more than €1.5K

Every swimmer manages to raise a substantial amount of money for charity each year. At the moment, the total stands at over 150,000 euros!

Participants start preparing months in advance, not only for the swim but also thinking about how to raise as much money as possible. They do everything they can to complete the swim, doing everything possible to ensure that cancer will one day be less devastating than it is now. The Swim Challenge was already a resounding success at its first edition in 2014 and has grown every year since.

Distances

This year, participants could register for the:

• Classic Swim Challenge, total distance 33.5 KM
• Short City Swim, total distance 2.1 KM
• Classic City Swim, total distance 3.8 KM
• Junior City Swim, for kids between 10 and 15 years, with distances of 500 or 750M.
