An Inspired Conversation as a Remedy Against Despondency

"The Paris climate goals are approaching rapidly. If we want to achieve those goals, fundamental choices are necessary. If we don't and keep postponing the issue, there's a good chance that the construction sector will come to a screeching halt after 2030."

This warning comes from architect Marianne Loof of LEVS architects. With her firm, and since 2022 also as Railway Architect for ProRail and NS, she strongly advocates for a sustainable transition. But how do we get that transition going? Where do all our good ambitions go when 'the system' is not yet cooperating? And how can large, sometimes sluggish organizations accelerate and truly work on circularity, sustainability, and climate adaptation?

Marianne discusses this with Esther Agricola, director of the Northwest Region of BPD Bouwfonds, the largest area developer in the Netherlands, where themes such as climate, landscape, energy, circularity, and sustainable mobility are also high on the agenda.
