To be seen once on Friday 21 March on the International Day against Racism and Discrimination. Nickel Boys, directed and co-written by RaMell Ross, tells the story of the powerful friendship between two young African-American men who endure the horrific trials of a reformatory school in Florida.
The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Colson Whitehead, and nominated for an Oscar for Best Film. In the Netherlands, the book is published as De Jongens van Nickel.
This performance was created in collaboration with the Dutch film theatres and film houses of the NFO (Netherlands Film Theatre Consultation) and is organised as a means in the fight against racism and discrimination at the request of the national coordinator National Coordinator against Discrimination and Racism, Rabin S. Baldewsingh.
