About Anna Sóley
Icelandic singer-songwriter Anna Sóley will perform new songs from her upcoming album Painting Reality, Photographing Fiction, alongside older originals and selected covers. Her music, inspired by folk and artists such as Emiliana Torrini and Nick Drake, combines poetic lyrics, vivid imagery, and recurring motifs that explore how storytelling shapes our view of reality. She is joined by Lilja María, performing on the self-designed instrument Hulda.
Anna Sóley studied music and literature in Iceland and the Netherlands, graduating with a BA in Jazz & Pop Vocals from ArtEZ and an MA in Literature from Utrecht University. Her debut album Modern Age Ophelia was released in 2022, and she is currently working on her next studio album. Besides performing, she teaches Music History and Lyric Writing at ArtEZ and gives vocal lessons at De Lindenberg.
