Svaneborg Kardyb
Vismarkt
Akerkhof 10, 9711 JB GroningenThe ethereal music of the Danish duo Svaneborg Kardyb is melodic, minimal, and subtle, with an electronic edge. The pair are masters at creating a musical world in which the listener can effortlessly drift away. The tracks draw from Danish folk music and Scandinavian jazz influences, such as Nils Frahm and Esbjörn Svensson. After a successful performance at Eurosonic Noorderslag, the duo returns to Groningen with their new album Superkilen. “With instrumental music,” reflects Nikolaj, “there are no words, so there’s nothing separating people – everyone is on the same page, so we can really connect with them. We have a song called ‘Freudesang,’ which means ‘The Whistling Tune.’ We play it at every show, and we invite the audience to whistle along, and everyone can do it.” The duo consists of Nikolaj Svaneborg (Wurlitzer, Juno) and Jonas Kardyb (drums, percussion). Their gentle, authentic music is perfect for fans of Nils Frahm, Matthew Halsall, e.s.t., and Mammal Hands.
