Trompsingel 27, 9724 DA GroningenThe Canadian indie folk band The Barr Brothers, founded by brothers Brad and Andrew Barr, are known for their boundary-blurring blend of folk, blues, soul, and indie rock. In the 1990s, they toured the United States with their improvisational rock trio The Slip. In Montreal, they met future bandmate Sarah Page when the sounds of her harp could be heard through the wall in Brad’s apartment.
With their layered, hypnotic sound, the multi-genre band has won several major awards. Their debut album was nominated for a JONO Award, and their album Sleeping Operator went gold. On October 17, The Barr Brothers released their new, honest and raw album, Let It Hiss. The title of this album symbolizes embracing discomfort, imperfection, and struggle.
