About Wongema
Wongema is a versatile meeting place in the village of Hornhuizen, Groningen, located at Tammingastraat 58. Originally a village café from around 1870, the building was saved from demolition in 2009 and transformed into a creative workspace and accommodation.
Mission and management
Since 2022, Wongema has been managed by a collective of local residents and contributors from across the Netherlands. Led by Wilbert, Astrid, Youetta, and Sandra, the collective focuses on creating a social, cultural, and sustainable center where everyone is welcome.
