Join a lively djembe workshop and drum your hands sore, create your own play project in just one afternoon, or explore the joy of making art together with a variety of artist-teachers. At VRIJDAG’s Kinderwerkplaats, all this is possible! Each week brings a new group, a different teacher, and a fresh workshop.

Every month, the Kinderwerkplaats focuses on a different theme, broken down into weekly subthemes. For June, the theme is Summer!, with subthemes like Camping, Water Fun, and “I’m going on a trip and I’m taking with me…”. The session starts with a brief introduction to the theme and the day’s activities, and then you get to choose what you want to do!

After the first activity, there’s a 15-minute break with drinks and snacks. At 3:30 PM, the children share their creations, and parents are welcome to come back then. While waiting, parents can stay outside the classroom, for example at the large table in the hall or by the bar.

The workshops are for kids only. If it’s your first time and you’re feeling a bit nervous, let us know or arrive early with your parents to check out the classroom beforehand. You can also try joining just half a session first.

Important: Wear old clothes that can get messy.

Spaces are limited, so it’s best to get a ticket in advance, though it’s not mandatory. If you come without a ticket, you can pay on arrival. Single tickets cost 8 euros, a 5-strip card is 40 euros, and a 10-strip card is 75 euros. Payment is by debit card only. Sessions start at 2:30 PM, so please be on time.*

*If you arrive late, you can only join after the break at 4:00 PM.
