Set in the 1930s, Gosford Park brings together a group of pretentious rich and famous for a weekend of relaxation at a hunting resort. But when a murder occurs, each of these interesting characters becomes a suspect.
The film was a huge success and was nominated for no less than seven Oscars. The television series Downton Abbey was originally planned as a spin-off of Gosford Park, but was instead developed as a standalone project inspired by the film.
