Day Trip on the Reitdiep with the ZK4/Albatros

The ZK4 Albatros is a beautiful historic cutter from the Fisheries Museum in Zoutkamp.

The Fisheries Museum in Zoutkamp, Museum aan de A, and The Groningen Landscape organize several special day trips on the ZK4 over the Reitdiep from May through September, combining culture, history, and nature. The Reitdiep area is one of the oldest cultural landscapes in Europe. The strongly meandering Hunze (now Reitdiep) once connected Groningen to the sea. It is no coincidence this area was often a subject in the works of the Groningen artist collective De Ploeg. A beautiful trip on the Reitdiep with a stopover in Garnwerd. On board, a guide from the Groningen Landscape shares knowledge about the Reitdiep and the flora and fauna of the Groningen region. In Garnwerd, lunch is prepared and you get a tour of the charming village, guided by a local guide. On Saturdays, the ZK4 sails from Zoutkamp to Groningen, on Sundays from Groningen to Zoutkamp. A taxi will bring you back to your boarding location.

The day trip from Zoutkamp to Groningen runs from 8:45 AM to approximately 4:15 PM, and from Groningen to Zoutkamp from 10:00 AM to approximately 5:45 PM. The price per person is €80, including coffee/tea and lunch. Supporters of The Groningen Landscape and FRIENDS OF Museum aan de A receive a discount and pay €70 per person (maximum 2 persons). Supporters can register by mentioning their supporter card number.
