15-year-old Tonia moves to a new school to escape her abusive ex. Despite her shyness, she quickly befriends the confident Lera and becomes friends with a group of rebellious teenagers who roam the post-socialist suburbs of Kyiv. Tonia’s life becomes even more complicated when she finds herself in a love triangle with the popular Zhurik and Lera’s headstrong older brother Sania.

As she struggles to navigate the gang’s rules and her own identity, it becomes clear that the games they play have no winners. Director Anna Buryachkova offers a unique perspective on coming of age in the tumultuous 1990s, shedding light on the complexities of teenage love and self-discovery.
