Jasmine Jethwa makes swinging, folk-tinged acoustic pop songs with a full voice teeming with rich emotion. Influenced by the personal stories of her London upbringing and with an enchanting, natural command of melody and harmonies. Early on, Jasmine was inspired by artists like David Gray, Tracy Chapman and The Eagles and Hindi culture. Later, R&B and the band Fontaines D.C. also became a great inspiration for her.

She was born and raised in South London. Jasmine Jethwa’s journey into singing begins in a melting pot of Western and Indian culture, influenced by the personal stories of her London upbringing and with a mesmerising, natural mastery for melody and harmonies. In her songs, the guitar plays an absolute starring role.

In 2020, Jasmine released her debut EP Hurricane, which was acclaimed by BBC Introducing and The Independent, among others. Two EPs followed. Now that she is working on new music again, a tour can’t be out of the question either. And that will also lead her past Simplon!
