Water Creatures Excursion

There is more living in the water than you might think: water fleas, beetles, larvae, bugs, leeches, and even tiny scorpions. Scary names for wonderful little creatures.

On Saturday, September 13, you can visit the beautiful Curringherveld in Kornhorn to observe these tiny aquatic creatures under a microscope; magnified 20 to 500 times!

If you like, you can first go hunting with a net in the beautiful pond on the site. Then volunteers from IVN and Het Groninger Landschap will be ready with 7 microscopes (2 with large screens), so you can study your catch closely.

Are water creatures too scary for you? Of course, there are also beautiful flowers, butterflies, and insects to be found. We bring a variety of materials, but you can also bring your own to examine.

You do not need to register in advance; you can just drop in between 1:30 PM and 4:00 PM.
The activity is especially suitable for children aged 6 and up, but adults are welcome too.
Participation is free.
