What started as intimate conversations at the kitchen table grew into a moving performance

A birdwatcher has settled in a retirement home. He spots a species on a journey through their inner landscape of memories, towards a future that will not be long. Have they become who they wanted to be? What have they lost along the way? Between the chirping, the silence of loneliness is audible, connecting them and not making them strangers to each other. 

NEST is based and inspired by the personal stories of residents of the senior flat Het Hoogtepunt in Groningen. What started with conversations at the kitchen table grew into an artistic project in which residents not only shared their stories, but also actively played a part in the final performance. 

NEST will premiere at Noorderzon on August 23. After the festival, the show can also be visited separately .
