Do you dream of a world without constant notifications and endless algorithms? A place where you can escape the ceaseless stream of digital stimuli? Welcome to Offline Tourists.
Three characters use their credit scores to buy a golden ticket to the offline world, seeking peace and rediscovery of real life. They enjoy writing letters, practicing bushcraft, and making music without screens. But what starts as liberation becomes a trial. Their credits run out, and without credits, there’s no access to their old life. Returning proves far from simple. The only way out? Face challenges and win competitions to earn new credits. How far will they go to return to the world they wanted to escape?
Offline Tourists explores a future where digitalization controls everything, and being offline has become a luxury.
Enkidu Khaled
Belgian-Iraqi director Enkidu Khaled created a unique method that allows anyone—child or adult, beginner or expert—to make theatre. He presented this method in his solo performance Working Method, for which he received the Big in Belgium Award at the Edinburgh Festival. His work exudes accessibility: regardless of background or circumstances, he invites the audience to become part of the story. Expect an immersive experience where the most bizarre connections appear and the wildest stories come to life.
About Het Zuidelijk Toneel
Het Zuidelijk Toneel is the premier theatre company from the south, touring from its home city Tilburg across the Netherlands and Flanders. From the smallest to the largest performance arenas, the new permanent ensemble of six passionate performers takes the stage. Driven more than tamed by the company's first female artistic director, Sarah Moeremans, and joined by a colorful team of in-house directors, Het Zuidelijk Toneel creates productions that excite, move, and recharge audiences. Their successful shows, including Een Leuk Avondje Uit, Crashtest Ibsen, and Shut Up and Play with Me, have become favorites among both critics and the public.
