The yolk’s on you – Exploring Fry Culture at Cafetaria Koning

Het Resort invited three artists to dive into the world of fry culture – officially recognized as intangible cultural heritage – and to explore the essence of the Dutch snackbar. Natasja Mabesoone, Jesse Strikwerda, and Josse Pyl spent six weeks in Groningen creating new temporary works especially for Cafetaria Koning.

In the exhibition The yolk’s on you, their works become part of the everyday rhythm of the snackbar – a space rich in layers, language, time, and taste. What lies beneath the surface of brown-yellow tiles, glass display cases, and the smell of frying oil? Come see (and snack) during the opening or any day after.

The exhibition opens on Friday, November 1 at Cafetaria Koning, Bedumerweg 15, Groningen, and runs until December 12. For visiting hours and more information, visit the Het Resort website.
