The 17-year-old gentle Ze fulfills multiple roles. Within his community, he is a spiritual shaman who communicates with the spirits of his ancestors. At school, he is a model student with the highest grades. The balance in his life is disrupted when he meets his peer Maralaa during a shamanic ritual. They fall in love and explore life in modern Ulaanbaatar together. This awakens emotional and physical desires and he must juggle between tradition and modernity and communal duties and his personal desires.
