Groninger Museum
Museumeiland 1, 9711 ME GroningenSpring, summer, autumn and winter: the changing of the seasons is a popular theme in art and music. We made a presentation about it with some new acquisitions.
The series of vases The Four Seasons – titled Le Quattro Stagioni di Tom – was designed by leading designers Alessandro Mendini, George Sowden, Andrea Branzi, Michele de Lucchi and produced by Tom Boekema (1983-2022). Alessandro Mendini, the chief architect of the Groninger Museum, designed the spring vase. The series was manufactured by the ceramic studio Cor Unum from Den Bosch. The vases are combined with four paintings from the museum collection, each of which also represents a season.
