The Hortus will take part in the National Open Beekeeping Days on July 13 and 14, 2024. Throughout the weekend, several beekeepers will be present in the stable to share all about honey bees and the art of beekeeping with visitors. Viewing boxes will be set up so you can safely observe the bee colonies behind glass or mesh. There will also be a demonstration box featuring photos and informative displays about honey bees and beekeeping.

Visitors can pick up helpful brochures to take home. For those interested in learning more or starting their own beekeeping journey, there will be an opportunity to sign up on the spot for a Basic Beekeeping Course organized annually by the Beekeeping Association Haren - Paterswolde, which leads to an official beekeeping diploma.
