Summerstage in the Stadspark

Summerstage is a brand-new series of summer concerts held in the green heart of Groningen’s Stadspark. The former racetrack, with its wide open field, relaxed park atmosphere and the iconic Gasunie building in the background, offers a unique setting where music and surroundings blend beautifully. It’s a place where major national and international artists take the stage.

The event builds on past successes in the Stadspark, such as Stadspark Live, which hosted global acts like Green Day, Guns N’ Roses, Sting, Simple Minds and Lionel Richie. With Summerstage, a long-held ambition of SPOT and the Municipality of Groningen becomes reality: attracting top-tier (inter)national artists to the North and strengthening Groningen’s position as a leading music city.

The very first edition in July exceeded all expectations. Nights with Neil Young and special guest Van Morrison, Acda en de Munnik and The Teskey Brothers received an outpouring of positive reactions. For SPOT Groningen, it was a clear sign that this is only the beginning. And the momentum continues: upcoming shows include Snow Patrol with special guest White Lies on June 12, Kraantje Pappie’s biggest show ever on June 13 and folk-rock titans Mumford & Sons on July 1.

Summerstage is quickly becoming a yearly tradition where music, nature and community come together. Groningen is ready — and you are warmly invited to be part of it.
