The French philosopher and poet Jean Baudrillard wrote: “We live in an era of things. I mean we live to adapt their rhythm and ever-changing reality. In all the previous civilizations, what survived after generations was things—long-lasting tools or buildings; today, however, we and our bodies witness the generation, perfection and extinction of things. “Hommage”, which premiered in Shanghai in February 2023, seeks to re-interpret and re-examine the words of Baudrillard in the context of the increasing cultural integration of the post-globalized world and its consequences and impact upon human bodies.
