Roufaida makes music in the corner of Björk, Arooj Aftab and Nilüfer Yanya. She combines North African elements with understated indie pop. With her powerful yet vulnerable voice, she sings in English, Arabic and Riffin, accompanied by guitar, guembri and vintage Riffin cassette samples.

Roufaida’s breakthrough came with the release of the Roufaida EP in 2023, featuring standout tracks like Don’t Bend, which features the deep tones of the Moroccan guembri, and Kalimat, inspired by a poem by Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani. The EP received international attention and brought her to stages in Benelux, Germany and Morocco, with performances at festivals such as Down The Rabbit Hole, Into The Great Wide Open and Noorderslag. She has shared the stage with artists such as Xavier Rudd, Balthazar, Melody Gardot and Eefje de Visser.

On stage, Roufaida lets listeners get close during her music solos. Now she is performing her beautiful voice and guitar playing at Simplon. And with a new album on the way, you can expect new songs!
