Sincere and touching drama full of humour about 18-year-old Totone who needs money to take care of his sister. His plan: to make an award-winning Comté cheese.

Eighteen-year-old Totone spends his time partying and drinking beer with his friends. But reality catches up with him when he unexpectedly has to take care of his seven-year-old sister. Totone has to come up with a plan to earn money. He stumbles upon a competition to make the best Comté cheese in the region, with which he can win a large sum of money.

This debut film by director Louise Courvoisier, who herself grew up in the Jura region, offers an authentic look at growing up amidst loss and responsibility. The film was selected for the official competition ‘Un Certain Regard’ at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Prix de la Jeunesse. In addition, Vingt Dieux de Valois received the diamond and the Valois des étudiants at the Angoulême 2024 Festival, as well as the Prix Jean Vigo for best film.
