Groninger Archives

The Groninger Archives are the source of the rich and tangible past of the city and province of Groningen. We collect and preserve, and we make historical and contemporary material accessible and usable. This is not only our legal duty as custodian of (government) archives, but also our mission: to keep the past alive for and by researchers, media, museums and everyone curious about Groningen’s history.

Fully named the Regional Historical Centre Groninger Archives, we are a professional collection manager introducing as many people as possible to our physical and digital collections. We actively mediate to broadly share historical and current information about the city and province of Groningen. And for the affiliated governments we are a reliable partner.
