GUTS - No One Knows You Like Family - 6, 7 & 8 March

After years apart, the Vaughn family is set to reunite to celebrate their youngest’s birthday; Iris. The event couldn’t come at a better time for the teenager, desperately needing to ease the tension that hovers over their home. She is eager to see one of her siblings, Rowan, who has been estranged from his parents for several years and is finally returning home. Their sister, PHD student Clover, isn’t keen on showing up, as she habitually avoids her home, specifically her mother. The eldest, Basil, usually relishes coming home but he has been acting a little strange these past few months.

As for the parents, they have been preparing for this occasion for a long time. After all, it’s not every day your little girl turns 18! Every family member enters this dinner with a secret, none of which will be left unsaid before the night ends. Oh, and Matthew’s there too. He’s here to fix the lawnmower.

No One Knows You Like Family is a melodramatic story that mixes tragedy with bits of comedy and delves into family dynamics, trauma and gender. During the dinner party, the siblings of the Vaughn family will confront each other and their parents by exploring the past, and the present of their broken relationships. A rollercoaster of emotions awaits them and the audience in this intimate play that toys with the 4th wall.
