Nieuwe Markt 1, 9712KN Groningen GroningenHors-saison is an enchanting film by Stéphane Brizé in which lost loves let sparks fly again on the rugged Brittany coast.
After his trilogy about the vicissitudes of the labor market, the director takes a different tack in this tender film set on the rugged Breton coast. Mathieu (Guillaume Canet) lives in Paris, Alice (Alba Rohrwacher) lives in a small seaside town in the west of France. He is in his fifties and a well-known actor, she is in her forties and a piano teacher. They fell in love fifteen years ago. But they each went their own way, time passed and wounds healed little by little. When Mathieu flees his life in a spa, he accidentally finds Alice.
Hors-saison had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. The chemistry between actors Alba Rohrwacher and Guillaume Canet jumps off the screen. 'Lovely, sorrowful reflection on missed chances and regained connections' (Variety).
