Noorderplantsoen Sun, September 14

The Noorderplantsoen is a beautiful and diverse park right in the heart of the city of Groningen.

The park was laid out at the end of the 19th century on the remains of the city walls. You can still see this in the shape of the ponds and the changes in elevation. The park was designed in English landscape style, which results in many winding paths, sight lines, and height differences. Several trees in the park date back to when the park was originally created.

Ike Pots and Hiltje Kamminga give a nature walk once a month in this lovely park. There is always plenty to see. Every month is different, and each time we let ourselves be surprised again.

What to bring: Binoculars can be useful but are not required. We have magnifying glasses, but you may also bring your own.
