Skinshape is the studio project of British musician and producer William Dorey, born out of a deep love for the warm sounds of old music. Skinshape’s music is a unique blend of various influences from the 1960s and 1970s, including funk, reggae, library music, psychedelic rock, African music, and folk.

Skinshape started as a solo project in the studio, but has grown into a dynamic five-piece live band that performs both new and old material. In 2023, Skinshape released his ninth studio album, titled ‘Another Side of Skinshape’, where childhood memories and Ethiopian rhythms serve as the inspiration for the new music.

In addition to his work as a solo artist, William was also a co-founder of the band Palace (2014-2017) and has been running his own reggae label, Horus Records, since 2014. Skinshape started as a solo project in the studio, but has grown into a dynamic five-piece live band that performs both new and old material.
