Ali and his wife Aysel live in a small village in Anatolia, surrounded by a large lake and immense reed fields. They have to work hard to make ends meet. In addition, they are exploited and abused by mafia bosses. The bosses of the workers are at war with each other and there is also a conflict going on about bird poaching. While his wife is prepared to adapt to the circumstances, Ali continues to resist. When one of the bosses disappears from the scene due to an accident, the situation for Ali becomes increasingly complicated.
