De Blauwe Schuit

De Blauwe Schuit is a cultural center in Winsum (Warfstraat 1), offering space for theater performances, workshops, courses, meetings, and various cultural events. It is run by Stichting Podium, a foundation established in 2011 to promote connection, creativity, and collaboration among local residents and organizations.

The center features a small theater hall with approximately 120 seats, rehearsal rooms, and a foyer. It is used by music groups, theater clubs, and community organizations.

The Living Museum Winsum is located within the center — an open art studio for individuals recovering from psychological, social, or personal challenges. Participation is free and open to all, with guidance from artists and volunteers under the direction of Stichting Podium.

The local music association De Bazuin also rehearses weekly at De Blauwe Schuit. Their concert band has around 40 members and performs a wide repertoire including pop, film, light music, and traditional brass band pieces.
