Grunge grit meets shoegaze haze
Formed in 2025, Newhvn marks the rebirth of the former post-rock project A Burial at Sea. The band trades purely instrumental compositions for a direct, gritty, and melancholic mix of rock, alternative rock, and grunge, with echoes of shoegaze and post-hardcore. Their sound is raw yet layered, featuring heavy guitars, dreamy textures, and lingering melodies. Inspired by acts like Pinegrove and Cloakroom, but rooted in their own post-rock background, they recorded their first ten tracks at Black Bay Studios on the Isle of Lewis—a bold start for Newhvn.
Support act Divided is a Belgian band delivering a combination of sludgy riffs, hardcore grooves, a post-metal shoegaze vibe, and piercing vocals. Above all, it’s about what feels authentic to the band. With just one album and one EP to their name, they have already toured Europe and shared the stage with bands like Brutus, LLNN, and Wiegedood. Their powerful live performances consistently leave a massive impression.
