In recent times, we have seen in various Western countries that archives are being manipulated or even disappearing. Sometimes the role of the archivist is heavily influenced by political leaders. How does the government in the Netherlands influence access to or manipulation of (historical) information? And what is the role of archives, archivists, historians and journalism in all this?
